Looking for a holistic and effective way to elevate your mood, purify the air you breathe and improve brain function? Consider diffusing essential oils!
Therapeutic-grade essential oils affect the brain in positive ways and it goes way beyond smell alone! The brain is protected by a membrane called the blood-brain barrier, which separates it from the blood circulating around the brain. This barrier blocks damaging substances from getting to the brain and into the cerebrospinal fluid. The American Medical Association did some research on whether or not positive agents could cross the barrier to help treat certain diseases and degenerative conditions that affect the brain. They discovered that sesquiterpenes, found in some essential oils, had the ability to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. These sesquiterpenes increased oxygen in the brain, which in turn increased antibodies, endorphins, and neurotransmitters. The easiest way to to put oils in the air for inhalation is with an aromatic diffuser. Cold-air diffusers work best because they do not alter the chemical makeup of the oil. The cold air breaks the oils up into an oxygenated microfine mist that improves the quality of the air. When diffused, essential oils reduce airborne bacteria, fungus, mold, and chemicals. Depending on the mood you want to create or the health issue you want to address, there are endless essential oils you can choose from along with making your own unique blends! Here are some tips for choosing which oils to diffuse:

Thank you for mentioning that rosemary and juniper berry are great for a boost of energy. My sister wants to get some essential oils because she renovated her barroom and made it look like a spa. I will pass her the list of essential aromas so she can get a few.

Thank you for pointing out that the oils in essential oils can help to increase antibodies and endorphins! About a week ago, I was talking with my sister, and she mentioned that she wants something relaxing in her home that will also help keep her kids healthy! I wonder if my sister should look into some kind of ultrasonic aroma diffuser that could put out lavender or something to calm and boost antibodies!

I loved how you mentioned that they can give you an energy boost! My husband and I have both felt pretty tired these past couple of weeks, and we were wondering what we could change in our home to help us have more energy. We'll have to look into getting essential oils and a diffuser for our home sometime soon!

Thank you for sharing that essential oils can help in promoting a better night's sleep, especially for those who are having insomnia problems. My sister just mentioned the other day that she is having some trouble sleeping at night ever since she got pregnant as she is not comfortable sleeping in one position. I will suggest to her getting essential oil that can help promote good night's sleep for her.
